Northlane was born out of frustration. Managing money across multiple banks, investment accounts, and credit cards was messy — so we built something better.
Northlane is made by Read Write Code, a small software studio focused on building products that are genuinely useful. We believe that great software should be simple, fast, and trustworthy.
We were tired of personal finance apps that were bloated with features nobody used, buried the important stuff behind confusing dashboards, or required handing over full access to your bank accounts just to see a budget.
So we started from scratch. We asked: what does someone actually need to manage their money day-to-day? The answer was clear — you need to see your full financial picture in one place, understand where your money is going, track your investments, and get nudged when something needs your attention.
That's exactly what Northlane does. Nothing more, nothing less.
Our values shape every decision we make — from how we design features to how we protect your data.
Personal finance should be understandable. We strip away the noise and show you only what matters — your money, your goals, your progress.
We only ever use read-only access to your accounts. We never sell your data. Your financial life is yours — we just help you see it more clearly.
Every feature is designed with real people in mind. We obsess over the details that make the difference between a tool you use once and one you rely on daily.
We're building Northlane for everyday people — not Wall Street. Whether you're paying off debt or growing wealth, this app is for you.
"To give every person access to the financial clarity that was once only available to the wealthy — clearly, simply, and securely."
Financial stress is one of the most common problems people face. We believe that better tools lead to better decisions, and better decisions lead to better lives. That's why we keep building.
